Meet the Board.
The Board of the Bremen Softball and T-Ball League administers the major, minor, and t-ball leagues as well as the associated concession stands in Bremen, Indiana.
Jessica Klingerman
Co-President
Jessica Klingerman first served on the Bremen Softball & T-Ball League board from 2004 to 2007, when she took a break to focus on college and her career. She rejoined the board in 2017.
Jessica played softball from T-ball through high school, participating in both Bremen’s 14 and Under Teams and other travel softball teams throughout the Michiana area. Her passion for the sport allowed her to play in tournaments in states throughout the country including Texas and Oklahoma. Jessica was on Bremen’s first high school team to win Regionals.
In addition to being a member of the board, she also spends time coaching at least one team, if not multiple teams throughout the season. You can also find Jessica umpiring for the League.
Outside of softball, she works for Bremen Public Schools as a 7th Grade math teacher. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a B.A. in elementary education and a minor in mathematics
Wyatt Koontz
Co-President
Wyatt Koontz began serving on the board in 2023.
Wyatt works for Southwire, who donated both of the new scoreboards.
Wyatt is definitely the handyman on the board. He also coaches several rec league teams as well as the 10U team.
In his free time, Wyatt enjoys spending time with his wife Sara (also on the board) and his 3 girls. Softball has been a fun way for him to connect with his girls.
Chris Waidner
Vice-President
Chris has been on the softball board since 2021.
Chris’s love for baseball started when he played T-ball and it continued through high school playing for South Bend Clay. After college, he played softball in various leagues and tournaments around the area, then turned that passion for into coaching. Chris has been a positive role model to kids in the league since 2018, and has expanded to coach 12U travel softball and teaching strategy to his team as they advance in the sport.
When not at the diamond, Chris is part of Bremen Community Cares and helped renovate the Community Center. In his spare time, Chris enjoys sports, and playing cards and other games with family and friends.
Professionally, Chris is a graduate of Purdue University and a licensed civil engineer in five states. He has been a supporter of our local community, overseeing the design of several road and streetscape projects in the area.
Sara Koontz
Treasurer
Sara Koontz began serving on the board in 2023.
Sara played softball in Bremen from T-ball through 8th grade. She has coached T-ball, Belles, and Minor League. Sara enjoys watching players learn the game, try new things, and make fun memories.
When she's not at the softball diamonds, Sara enjoys camping with her family, reading, and volunteering at her church and in the community. Sara was a pediatric nurse for 9 years, but currently stays home and homeschools her 3 daughters.
Karen Henion
Member
Karen Henion joined the board in 2023.
Karen is currently a math and physics teacher at Bremen High School. Karen recently started coaching basketball at the elemtary/middle school level. In addition to that she often runs the scoreboards at the school. She has been an umpire in the rec league since 2022 and referees in basketball as well.
Karen resides in Bremen with her wife Jen, two dogs, and two cats. They enjoy spending time with their nieces and nephews whenever they can.
James Ford
Member
James joined the board in late 2023.
James spends a lot of time at the fields, helping with set up, field maintenance, and coaching. James started a fall ball team for Bremen players in 2022. They traveled to Walkerton to continue playing ball after the end of the summer league. James has coached in belles, minor league, and helped with 10U.
